Don Beller taught instrumental music for 33 years in the public schools in both Great Falls and Missoula, Montana. He was conductor of the Missoula Youth Symphony for 17 years and has been the double bass instructor at The University of Montana for the past 22 years. Retired now from the public schools, he continues at UM, is Principal Double Bassist of the Missoula Symphony, and does a good deal of freelance symphony playing. Don holds a BA from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota, an MMEd from VanderCook College of Music in Chicago, Illinois, and has studied double bass with Roma Vayspapier and Warren Benfield. His hobbies are repairing grandfather clocks and restoring Model A Fords. |
