Nancy has been a Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Montana since 1992. She received her Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts Degrees from the Eastman School of Music. She is an active recitalist, having performed throughout the United States, Canada, England and Germany. Dr. Cooper is a noted music historian, particularly on the topic of Jeffersonian-era music. Her accomplishments include numerous publications, most recently in the revised New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians; in addition, she was researcher and performer for Ken Burns' PBS film, "Jefferson." She is the organist and choir director at Holy Spirit Episcopal Church.
